FAQs
Q: Will the LandingZone provide enough power to keep the 16-inch MacBook Pro fully charged while in use?
A: Yes. The LandingZone comes with a 140W power adapter that provides 94W of passthrough power. This will keep the 16-inch MacBook Pro charged under any use case.
Q: Why does this LandingZone have DisplayPorts on the Left and Right Wings instead of HDMI ports?
A: There are a number of reasons we have chosen to provide DisplayPorts over HDMI ports. The primary reason is because USB Type-C ports on the 16-inch MacBook Pro support Native DisplayPort output, so DisplayPort has the best compatibility with the 16-inch MacBook Pro. Another reason is due to the growing popularity of DisplayPort on newer monitors and because DisplayPort has better 4K and 6K support compared to HDMI.
Q: Does the LandingZone support 8K monitors or displays?
A: No. The 16-inch MacBook Pro only supports 6K resolution at maximum (6016 x 3384 @ 60Hz).
Q: What is the maximum resolution supported by the DisplayPort 1, DisplayPort 2, and HDMI 1 ports?
A: DisplayPort 1 and DisplayPort 2 can both support a maximum resolution of 6016 x 3384 @ 60Hz if only two monitors are connected and they are connected to the DisplayPorts. This is because the 16-inch MacBook has a video support of “Up to two displays with 6016‑by‑3384 resolution at 60Hz at over a billion colors” and “Up to four displays with 4096‑by‑2304 resolution at 60Hz at over a billion colors”. The HDMI 1 port only supports a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160 @ 30Hz.
Q: How many external monitors can the LandingZone support?
A: The LandingZone can support a maximum of four external monitors; one connected to DisplayPort 1, one connected to DisplayPort 2, one connected to the HDMI 1 port, and one connected to the USB Type-C Passthrough port.
Q: What is the best way to undock the MacBook from the LandingZone?
A: Undocking the MacBook from the LandingZone is a simple three-step process:
- Press the Release Lever located on the Left Wing of the LandingZone to release the ports on the left side of the MacBook.
- Use your Right Hand to locate the gap between the main body of the LandingZone and the Right Wing.
- Grip the Right Wing near the gap, and with your Left Hand holding the MacBook in place, pull the Right Wing out of the MacBook.
